    From November 3 to 4, the "5^th International Symposium on Multi-Scale Geomechanics and Geo-engineering" jointly sponsored by Jiangsu Society for Geotechnical Mechanics and Engineering and Jiangsu Engineering Lab for Underground Space Exploration Technology was held in Nanjing Design Center of JSTI Group. This seminar focused on basic theory, cutting-edge technology, testing methods and engineering applications in the field of geotechnical and geo-engineering, attracting nearly 200 representatives from domestic and foreign universities, scientific research institutions, design units, transportation and construction departments. In particular, 23 domestic and foreign experts, including Academician Ronald Kerry Rowe of Canadian Academy of Engineering, Academician Emmanuel Detournay of the National Academy of Engineering, Professor Shao Jianfu of University of Lille, Professor Frédéric SKOCZYLAS of Ecole Centrale de Lille, Professor Xu Weiya of Hohai University and Professor Liu Songyu of Southeast University, were invited to share their excellent reports. Tang Minghai, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission, Ding Feng, Deputy Director of Department of Transport of Jiangsu Province, Zhu Xiaochun, Vice President of Nanjing Institute of Technology, Ding Xiping, Director of High-tech Industry Department of Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission, Jiang Yongsheng, Vice President of Jiangsu Provincial Urban Underground Space Association, and other leaders attended the meeting. Chairman Fu Guanhua of JSTI Group, Director Yang Yang of Testing and Research Institute, Director Liu Chuanxin of Jiangsu Engineering Lab for Underground Space Exploration Technology, and Director He Hongrong of Geotechnical Research Institute, etc. all attended the meeting.
