With rich experience in quality control of long-span-bridges, internationally advanced testing technologies, state-of-art equipment, and high-quality staff, JSTI Group undertook the quality control task of the main project of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. It formed a dream team with top design companies and contractors in China as well as world-first-class engineering consulting companies. Together, they contributed to the project that draws global attention.
In terms of scale, the test center for the main project of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has reached the Class B (comprehensive) requirements of the Ministry of Transportation. It is the first field laboratory in China that has the CMA certification. Both its management and scale have reached the top level in China.
Due to its great length, heavy workload, tight schedule, and strict indicators, in order to meet technical standards of the three areas at the same time, one principle (“high standards first”) and one model (“co-construction co-management of the three areas”) are adhered to, which posed great challenges to the testing work.
In order to ensure successful completion of the testing task, the test center set up, among others site inspection teams, concrete quality control groups, and steel coating test groups which, with clear division of labor, work together tightly.
The test team of JSTI Group stayed at the site for six to seven years. Every day, they hold fast to the field laboratory. The thoughts of home and loved ones have not affected the efficiency and enthusiasm of the dedicated workers of JSTI Group.
God rewards the diligent. More than 2,000 days and nights of dedication and hard work went to the effective protection of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, which has won the test team growth and reputation.
It is a project of the century and a project of the dream. The construction of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is still in full swing and the day of completion is getting closer. “With one bridge that flies over three areas, the ocean becomes a thoroughfare.” For the day of the dream, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge quality team is still doing their best. Roll up our sleeves to work hard, soldiers of Jiangsu Institute of Transportation Science! I’m proud of you!
